Exclusive: Millwall set to sign Hull City goalkeeper George Long + strike deal for Scott Malone

Millwall look set to sign Hull City goalkeeper George Long when he becomes a free agent at the start of July.

And the Lions are also understood to have a permanent deal locked down for Scott Malone.

The South London club are looking to add a shotstopper to provide competition to Bart Bialkowski. They have released Frank Fielding, who had been second choice.

Long is a former England U20 international and his contract with the Tigers is up at the end of next month.

The 27-year-old came through the youth ranks at Sheffield United and impressed on a season-long loan at AFC Wimbledon in the 2017-18 season, making 45 appearances in League One.

Long has been on Hull’s books since July 2018 and played 45 times in their last Championship campaign.

Malone, 30, is out of contract at Derby County from July 1 and scored six goals in 43 outings for the Lions after being tempted back to SE16 by Millwall boss Gary Rowett.
