‘Fantastic’ – Dons manager Jackson on loan capture of Brentford prospect Maghoma

AFC Wimbledon manager Johnnie Jackson has described the signing of Paris Maghoma on a season-long loan from Brentford as “fantastic”.

The Bees youngster, 21, has signed for the Dons for the 2022-23 campaign after signing a new long-term contract with the Premier League club in January.

Maghoma is Wimbledon’s sixth summer signing after they announced Charlton Athletic striker Josh Davison earlier in the day.

Jackson told the club’s website: “He’s someone that we highlighted at the start of the window as one that we wanted to get in.

“Paris has been involved with Brentford’s first-team and has been on tour with them, so he’s very highly regarded.

“We’ve had to bide our time but it’s fantastic to have got it done. We’ve got a good relationship with Brentford and they see it as a great opportunity for him to come to us.

“He’s a versatile player. He’s a good size. He can play further forward in a box to box role and he’s also comfortable at operating in a much deeper position as a player that can dictate the tempo of the game.”
