Former Brexit Party announces Croydon candidate for London Assembly elections
Reform UK – formerly the Brexit Party – has announced a new candidate ahead of next months election.
Robert Poll will be a candidate for Croydon and Sutton in the upcoming London Assembly elections on May 6.
Robert is the founder of the ‘Save Our Statues’ Twitter campaign, which has garnered 22,000 followers since launching last summer.
Mr Poll said: “I am delighted to be standing in Croydon and Sutton and to offer the residents an alternative to the two-party consensus.
“Both Labour and Conservative are now parties of government control and high taxes. Reform UK is the only party that champions the individual and a low tax, high growth economy.
“We must reject divisive identity politics and instead look forward with unity and confidence to a positive future for Croydon and London.
“Rather than spending a million pounds reviewing statues, we need to focus on taking care of the unglamorous basics that make our city a safe and enjoyable place to live and work in.
“I will hold the Mayor to account on the issues that matter to residents: crime, transport and housing.
“In particular, we must focus on knife crime, as well as reopening our town centres and keeping them open, providing both support and certainty to local businesses.”
