Fulham strike double deal for Southampton duo
Fulham have made it a bank holiday weekend double after striking deals for Harrison Reed and Mario Lemina.
The Whites announced they had snapped up Southampton midfielder Lemina, 26, on a season-long loan. They also have the option to make the move permanent.
And Fulham have also secured Reed on a permanent basis after the Saints man impressed on loan last season. No fee has been disclosed but it was widely reported he would cost in the region of £8million.
Lemina said: “Now I’m with Fulham, I’m really happy and I’m glad to be part of the project.
“I spoke with the manager and he’s got some good ideas about the team, about the project and about everything he wants to do this season.”
Reed has signed a contract with Fulham until 2024 with the club also having an option of a further 12 months.
He said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be here and commit my future to the club. I’m really looking forward to the challenge.”
