Fulham’s Zak Chelli the favourite to win BOXXER super-middleweight tournament

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Zak Chelli is the favourite to win the BOXXER super-middleweight tournament on November 10.

The UB7 event is an elimination tournament where all the bouts take place in one night.

It was formerly know as Ultimate Boxxer. Peckham’s Derrick Osaze (pictured inset) who won the middleweight contest, is also set to feature on the show at BT Sports’ Stratford studio.

It will be shown live on BT Sport and also ITV4. Chelli, 22, is the joint youngest entrant but was on the end of a terrible decision when he featured recently on Matchroom Fight Camp – Jack Cullen looking hugely fortunate to come away with a draw.

The Fulham fighter, who holds the Southern Area title, wants a rematch with Cullen.

“I believe I’m the favourite [IN BOXXER] because I’ve had the toughest fights,” said Chelli (7-1).

“My record speaks for itself. I know I can knock all these people out.”

Osaze (10-0) is the first boxer to sign a multi-fight deal with BOXXER.

He is known as ‘The Punching Preacher’ because of his role as an ordained minister for his local church.
