Hakan Hayrettin has targeted promotion with Dulwich Hamlet after it was confirmed that he and his assistant manager Terry Brown would be staying at the club going into next season.
Former Maidstone manager Hayrettin, who was Hamlet’s third boss of the season, picked up 16 points last season during the back end of the season but was unable to save the club from National League South relegation.
Dulwich conceded 89 times in 46 matches – the most in the division – and their five-season stay in National League South came to an end this campaign.
“I’m immensely proud, like I said previously, to be managing Dulwich Hamlet Football Club,” Hayrettin told the club’s YouTube channel.
“It took a longer process than normal to agree things with the board members, but we were virtually on the same page.
“We have been humbled and overjoyed with the support we have had here.
“Dulwich is a fantastic football club with genuine people here who want to well.
“Obviously it’s about levels. Me and terry are at a level we haven’t been for a long time now, but we took a decision which we thought was the right thing for us.
“We want to continue the work to get this fantastic football club back up.
“We know we need to work hard and maximize the potential here.
“We’re going to be here for one reason and one reason only, which is to get the team promoted and to do our utmost to do that.”
