Hot electronica bands raise money in Peckham for Afghan refugees – with talks and discussion of the issues

A charity music campaign  will host two events in Peckham, to raise money for Afghanistan.

The two fundraising events staged by #LIVEFORLOVE on September 3 include live music and a talks programme featuring some of the most exciting established and up-and-coming names in the UK electronic music scene. All proceeds will be donated to Afghanaid.

Since the Afghan Taliban took control, the situation in Afghanistan remains tense and the future of the country
uncertain.

Afghanaid supports and provides urgent, life-saving assistance to men, women and children who have been affected by conflict.

This includes providing emergency shelter and financial support to those affected, as well as supplying emergency food parcels and equipment including kitchen kits, solar powered lamps, stoves, gas cylinders, hygiene products, towels, and blankets.

#LIVEFORLOVE was founded during the first UK lockdown in March 2020.

The campaign streamed live music daily across various online platforms to raise money for UK food banks.

What began as a fundraiser set up by friends, developed into an initiative supported by some of the biggest names in the UK music industry.
#LIVEFORLOVE raised over £46K with all donations going directly to The Trussell Trust.

William Wallace who co-founded the campaign, said: “#LIVEFORLOVE was founded when our industry was completely put on hold during the first lockdown of 2020. It was built on the belief that it was important to still bring people together, reconnect through music and support the most vulnerable in our society at the same time. We’ve
grabbed an opportunity to try and support those in need in Afghanistan and hope that by hosting these two events
we will be able to contribute to making a difference.”
