Huge screen to show World Cup in Greenwich before Emeli Sande concert

A massive screen will show the World Cup in Greenwich before the Emeli Sande concert tonight.

Organisers of the Greenwich Music Time concert series, which returns to The Old Royal Naval College for 6 nights from next Tuesday, have confirmed that they will be broadcasting England’s hugely anticipated last-16 World Cup clash with Colombia before Emeli Sande’s concert.

GMT celebrates its 5th anniversary this year with concerts from Emeli Sandé, Tom Jones, Steps, Nile Rodgers, Noel Gallagher and Il Divo.

GMT Director Peter Taylor: “What better way to combine two of this country’s favourite passions than to bring music and football together on the banks of the Thames for this year’s Greenwich Music Time.

“Our guests won’t miss a second of the action and we see this as the perfect way of gearing up for what is certain to be an amazing concert by Emeli Sandé.”

Transforming The Old Royal Naval College’s riverside location into an open-air venue, GMT has hosted concerts from the likes of Ray Davies, George Benson, Little Mix, Michael Ball & Alfie Boe, The Jacksons, Goldfrapp, Jools Holland and Jamie Cullum since it started in 2013.
