Ipswich Town loanee set to return to Charlton first-team training next week
Ipswich Town loanee Panutche Camara is set to link back up with Charlton’s first-team squad next week provided he has no setbacks in his injury rehab.
The midfielder has not featured for the Addicks since August 15 due to a foot injury.
Camara, 26, was seen as a key addition to the League One club’s playing personnel but he has played just 244 minutes of football in all competitions since his temporary move from the Tractor Boys.
Charlton head coach Michael Appleton said: “All being well, as long as there are no major issues this week with the lads [in sports science department] who have been on the grass with him doing some ballwork, he should hopefully be with the group next week at some point.
“At this level he is proven. I know what he is capable of, having come up against him as an opposition manager. It’s not as if I need to do my work on Pan in any way, shape or form. I know what he is about. He will be a major asset to us once he is fit and raring to go.”
Injury essentially wrote off Camara’s 2022-23 campaign. He featured in just four games for Ipswich after transferring from Plymouth Argyle in September 2022.
