‘It’s definitely a red card’ – Pundit reckons Palace midfielder should have been sent off at Arsenal

Darren Bent has claimed that Crystal Palace midfielder James McArthur should have been sent off for his kick on Bukayo Saka in last night’s 2-2 draw at Arsenal.

The Scottish midfielder was only booked for his foul on the England international, who needed lengthy treatment and then had to be replaced at half time.

McArthur’s full-blooded kick caught Saka on the back of his right calf, sending the young winger up into the air.

Former Charlton striker Bent told talkSPORT: “I’ve heard some people say: ‘Yeah, he’s got eyes on the ball – he’s trying to clear it’ – but he’s absolutely nowhere near the ball.

“For starters he has volleyed the wrong leg. He’s volleyed his standing leg. For me that is definitely a red card. It’s a red card on its own.”
