League Cup first round draw: Home tie for Millwall but Charlton and Dons face away games
Millwall were the only one of our clubs to be handed a home tie when the League Cup first round draw took place this morning – Charlton Athletic and AFC Wimbledon will both be on the road.
Lions boss Neil Harris had admitted before the draw that his only preference was to get a match at The Den. And he got his wish, with the Championship outfit hosting League One team Gillingham.
Charlton head to Milton Keynes, relegated from League One last season, while AFC Wimbledon were paired with Portsmouth.
The matches will be played on the week commencing August 13.
