Leeds United suffer major injury setback ahead of Millwall match

Leeds United will be without captain Liam Cooper for Saturday’s clash with Millwall.

United head coach Marcelo Bielsa confirmed that his skipper will be missing for a number of weeks after picking up a groin injury in the midweek win over West Bromwich Albion.

Jamie Shackleton (hamstring) is also unavailable for the trip to The Den after also being forced off in the same match.

Bielsa has ruled out playmaker Pablo Hernandez and midfielder Adam Forshaw being involved against Neil Harris’ side.

“Liam’s injury is not going to be longer than six weeks,” said Bielsa at his press conference today.

“It’s going to be a very tough and difficult match. Even where there is more or less quality in the opponent, matches like this are hard in the Championship. In every stadium you have a different atmosphere.”
