Family-friendly events at Battersea Power Station this Half Term
This February half-term, Battersea Power Station is packed with exciting activities for all the family to enjoy, from interactive workshops to unmissable exhibitions.
A whole host of arts and crafts sessions will be taking place within the Grade II listed building, inviting visitors to unleash their imagination.
From February 15 to 20, Power Station Stained Glass workshops will teach you how to craft your own stained-glass to brighten your windows at home.
This will be followed by Northern Lights Artwork sessions on February 16. Inspired by the Northern Lights installation in Turbine Hall A, children are invited to create dazzling light-inspired masterpieces.
Elsewhere across the arts and crafts programme, design and weave a unique dreamcatcher, make unique glowing beaded friendship bracelets or dance with mesmerising light-up LED hoops in the family-friendly LED Hoop Disco.
There will also be a free pop-up exhibition of Disney’s award-winning musical, The Lion King, in the Power Station’s Turbine Hall A, from February 17 to 23.
The exhibition, which celebrates the productions 10,000th performance, will showcase the masks, puppets, costumes and inspiration behind some of the most iconic characters.
Battersea power station’s annual Light Festival is also in full flow at the moment, running until February 23.
The free-to-attend festival includes eight installations created by British and international artists, inside and outside the building.
Running alongside the festival, children will be able to get their faces painted with bright neon colours at free face painting stations.
If that isn’t enough to keep you busy, those seeking adventure should head to Lift 109, where they can enjoy unrivalled views of the city skyline, catch a movie on the big screen at The Cinema in The Power Station or visit the world’s first-ever PEPPA PIG and Transformers stores.
