‘Something we’ve always needed’: New programme of theatre celebrating queer stories to launch at iconic Two Brewers
In 2025 Queer Theatre will launch OutCast, an exciting new programme to amplify diverse queer voices and stories.
Both seasoned industry professionals and emerging performers will grace the stage throughout this series which will premiere at the iconic queer venue, The Two Brewers in Clapham High Street on February 26.
The performances in OutCast will platform participants of Queer Theatre’s acting classes, with some performers taking to the stage for the very first time.
These classes take place every Monday at The Two Brewers and offer a vital safe space for LGBTQ+ actors to develop their skills, build community connections, and engage with material that speaks to their experiences.
The showcase is directed by theatre director and founder of Queer Theatre, Andrew Keates.
There will be three OutCast shows throughout 2025, including the inaugural event on February 26, followed by two more on July 25 and October 24, 2025.
Queer Theatre will be offering 50 complimentary tickets to casting directors, producers, and directors throughout the series.
Artistic Director Andrew Keates said: “OutCast feels like something we’ve always needed.
“I have loved working in a wholly queer space, exploring queer writing, characters, issues, and experiences without the possibility of fear, judgement, or prejudice.
“OutCast is when we choose to open our doors to those who want to see what we’ve been doing. It’s our chance to share the diversity and richness of LGBTQ+ experiences within our community without any barriers to entry.”
