Victorian warehouse revived into new bowling hot spot

Grab your friends and head to Greenwich for retro bowling lanes, a bar and restaurant serving up some of the best comfort food.

Vintners Lanes is a brand new bowling alley, located off Vintners Yard behind Davy’s Wine Vaults in Greenwich High Road. 

Having opened its doors on November 15, design agency DesignLSM has revived the upper floor of the historic building, complete with a bar and lounge.

Toast your victory, or drown your sorrows, with a range of signature cocktails, premium wines, craft beer and more, or opt for burgers, mouthwatering platters, artisan pizzas and classic wings all perfect for sharing.

The warehouse, which dates back to the 1850s, is a significant site for Davy’s, one of London’s oldest wine merchants.

Since the 1970’s, the venue has played a pivotal role in the merchant’s operations, serving as cellars and a warehouse for the distribution of wine, spirits, and beer. 

DesignLSM has taken this as inspiration to reimagine its rich heritage of brewing and alcohol merchantry for modern audiences, maintaining the original brickwork, concrete features, and detailing. 

As guests step into Vintners Lanes, they are greeted with chesterfield-inspired sofas, vintage factory lights, and original furniture found within the building itself which have been brought back to life.

At the heart of the venue, six bespoke bowling lanes blend the old with the new, set within timber flooring and Victorian tin ceiling panels. 

With a capacity of 100 guests, the venue serves up an array of food and drink options, including burgers, pizzas, and a full bar service.

Positioned in a prime location, a stone’s throw from Greenwich’s mainline and DLR station, the venue is within quick and easy reach from both the City and Canary Wharf.
