Peckham Festival returns with a series of free events

Peckham Festival returns for its seventh year with a series of free events celebrating Peckham’s thriving creative community.

From September 15-17, Copeland Park and venues across Peckham will host free events that celebrate the creativity of this neighbourhood.

Attracting between 15-20,000 visitors annually, Peckham Festival endeavours to bring people together through music, performance, art, markets, workshops, activities and more.

The venues include railway arches, warehouses, galleries, rooftops and Bussey Building.

Music platforms, GALA and Balamii, will be taking over the main stage at Copeland Park.

GALA will bring a number of new, rising acts to the stage on Saturday, aiming to establish a pipeline for artists to perform at GALA Festival in the future.

Peckham favourite, Balamii, will be taking over on Sunday for a lineup featuring their pick of the current crop of emerging and underground DJs.

Popular residents Jumbi and Prince of Peckham will be collaborating for the first time to host an evening of world class DJs on Saturday, and all female music platform BornNBred are returning to Peckham Festival to bring their energy and vibes to Friday evening’s lineup.

Copeland Gallery will host Staying Power, an immersive exhibition exploring Black British identity, curated by founders of The Palace Of The Dogs X Don’t Touch My Heritage, Danny Bailey & Alizèe Ndiaye.

The Holdrons Arcade residents were selected to receive Peckham Festival’s Arts Council Exhibition Grant to support them in exhibiting at Copeland Gallery for the first time.

The three-day exhibition will feature live art, dance, a film festival, panel discussions and live music.

Made in Peckham will return with open studios, showcasing over 200 artists and designers who will welcome visitors into their homes and studios across Peckham for an intimate, behind-the-scenes insight into their work and practices.

While Pexmas will curate 100 independent makers exhibiting in Unit 08 at Copeland Park, offering a unique opportunity to purchase works directly from local creatives.
