London musicians scoop up gongs at the 2021 MOBO Awards

Musicians from South and West London scooped up a number of awards at the UK’s biggest celebration of Black music and culture.

Brixton-born MC Dave, who took home Best Newcomer at the 2017 MOBO Awards, has come full circle by winning Album of The Year for his critically-lauded release “We’re All Alone In This Together”.

The release became his second consecutive No.1 charting album on the UK Official Charts.

Dave was also the most nominated artist at this year’s MOBO Awards, with five nominations in total.

Rising star Central Cee from Shepherd’s Bush took home Best Newcomer and became the first winner of MOBO’s Best Drill Act.

In a breakthrough year for the artist, he shot to No.2 on the UK Album Charts with his debut mixtape “Wild West” and scored a Top 5 charting single with ‘Obsessed with You’.
