Man dies after lorry collision in Merton

A man has died after his car crashed into a lorry in Merton on Thursday morning.

Emergency services were called to the Morden Road junction with Jubilee way at 04.53am and pronounced 35-year-old Lukasz Wiergolinski dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.

The lorry driver was not arrested.

Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit are investigating and are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dash cam, mobile phone or CCTV footage of the collision to urgently get in touch.
