Midfielder released by AFC Wimbledon
George Marsh has been released by AFC Wimbledon.
The midfielder arrived at Plough Lane in the summer of 2021 after leaving Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
Ex-Leyton Orient loanee Marsh was a part of the Tottenham squad for their Champions League final defeat to Liverpool in 2019.
The 24-year-old has made 60 appearances for the Dons in all competitions.
A club that reached the play-offs in the National League enquired about earlier in the season.
He featured 24 times this season under Johnnie Jackson but was not included in the squad for yesterday’s final game of the season – a 1-0 defeat at Grimsby Town.
Forward David Fisher confirmed on Twitter earlier on Tuesday afternoon that he will be leaving the Dons at the end of his contract.
Chris Gunter also played his final game for the club on Monday after announcing he would retire from professional football at the end of the season.
