Millwall have agreed a loan deal for Stoke City midfielder Ryan Woods.
The Lions are set to confirm the move before midday – and the 26-year-old will be involved in Saturday’s home game against Reading.
Millwall’s need to add to their options in the middle of the park were increased following Shaun Williams’ red card at Stoke last weekend. Ryan Leonard (knee) and Ben Thompson (ankle) are still working their way back to full fitness.
Woods is a player who Lions boss Gary Rowett will know all about during his spell in the hotseat at City.
Stoke paid £6million to sign him from Brentford in August 18.
Rowett made him stand-in caption when Ryan Shawcross was injured.
Woods has made eight Championship appearances this season but has not featured since the start of December. He has been an unused substitute in six of the last seven league fixtures, not making the matchday squad for the other.
