Millwall boss gives verdict on Jed Wallace’s start to the campaign – with attacker nominated for Championship award

Gary Rowett has praised Jed Wallace’s consistency – with the Millwall attacker one again challenged to hit double figures for goals this season.

Wallace was nominated for Championship Player of the Month for September but the honour went to Blackburn midfielder Bradley Johnson.

The Lions man scored 10 goals and produced 12 assists last season.

Wallace notched both Millwall’s goals in the league in September. He has also got an assist in the EFL Cup.

“Jed has scored two goals in four league games and he’s set other chances up,” said Lions boss Rowett. “Jed has been very, very consistent in the period since we’ve been here.

“He has scored and set up goals in bunches and streaks, a lot of forward players are like that.

“If he gets into double figures again, we need to get more players into double figures who play in those areas. I’ve been pleased with his start.”
