Millwall boss Neil Harris urges perspective as his side look to end win wait
Neil Harris wants Millwall’s winless run to be put into context.
The Lions have taken two points from a possible 15 in the Championship and also exited the League Cup after a penalty shootout defeat to Oxford United.
A huge error by Bartosz Bialkowski gifted QPR striker Nakhi Wells a winner on Saturday.
“I’ve got to be honest, a lot of people are talking about difficult spells but they have got to look at those games,” said Harris. “At Middlesbrough we got a point – everyone would have been happy with that before the match – and we should have won the game.
“Hull, 95 per cent of the game was Millwall and we didn’t win the game because of a flukey goal. Oxford we were 2-1 up and cruising – we could’ve been 27-0 [up] – and lost on penalties.
“Blackburn were better than us. Today [Saturday] we gave a goal away. People have to stop being negative – that’s for sure. We need to play better and we will play better. But I don’t buy into all that [that team are in a difficult spell].
“If you start with seven points from three or four games then people get carried away thinking we are going to win the league.
“But look at the quality in this division. Nakhi Wells’ finish [for his first goal] – we get in that position five, six or seven times and we don’t score. It is why Nakhi Wells has played in the Premier League for half of his career.
“We need perspective. Do I want us never to get beaten at home again this season? Too right. My frustration is that we’ve lost that home unbeaten record already and it was avoidable.
“We got ourselves back on level terms and the stadium erupts – it had been flat in the stadium in the second half. It was just getting going and you can’t legislate [for Bialkowski’s mistake]. Bart is a good, honest pro – he’s held his hands up and apologised – but it kills the game. It makes it difficult for us to gain the ascendency but we still had a couple of chances and are not good enough to take them.
“An error has decided the outcome of the game. The Championship is a hard enough league to be in and get points in without giving goals away.”

Quite a few new players give our lions a bit of time to settle in as team.Neil harris is a great manager.

its not that people are negative, more you seem to be watching a different game to the rest of us ,
I know it may seem like it ,but I am not trying to tell you how to manage your team , but like every supporter at a game I do have an opinion, which I am giving ,you can take notice off it ,or not that’s up to you
Just please remember at home its normally the home team that is attacking, most of the time, and the more we are on the front foot ,the better we normally play
When we keep sitting back and only having 30-45% of the play ,something is wrong ,we /Your better than that ,I want you to stay ,but please, look at attacking more when possible, you don’t have bad players ,but as it stands we don’t yet have a good team,
