Millwall boss Rowett responds to rumours that Ipswich Town could recall Bart Bialkowski
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Millwall boss Gary Rowett is hoping that Bart Bialkowski stays at The Den for the duration of his loan – and is unaware of talk that Ipswich Town could recall the Poland goalkeeper.
Bialkowski joined the Lions on a season-long loan from the League One club.
He has been one of their best performers this season – riding high in the Championship charts for the most saves made.
Rowett was asked after Tuesday’s 2-2 draw with Wigan whether there was anything in speculation that the Tractor Boys would cut short Bialkowski’s time in SE16.
“I haven’t heard anything like that at all,” said Rowett. “There are certain things in the agreement that I’m aware of. It’s a case of seeing what happens.
“It is what it is. We don’t want to lose Bart – he’s a very, very good player. He’s performed very, very well for us. But at the same time we also have to have a plan in case something happens in that sense.
“Our intention is that hopefully he is here as our goalkeeper – because he’s been great – and the lads love him as well.”
