Millwall boss: We’re at advanced stage with one of our goalkeeper targets

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Neil Harris has revealed that Millwall at an advanced stage with talks with one of their goalkeeper targets.

The Lions are in the market for two senior stoppers this summer.

David Martin’s exit was confirmed earlier this week. He will join West Ham on a two-year deal on July 1.

But Harris says that Millwall are close to adding in that department.

“It means we are looking for two goalkeepers – rather than one,” said the Millwall chief. “We are in talks – a long way down the line with one.

“I’m relatively positive there will be an outcome on that one soon.

“Our club financially is in a good position. We don’t pay huge wages and huge transfer fees, but we are a club which is not in FFP [financial fair play] danger territory, like many others in the league. Stability can have its advantages.”
