Millwall defender is a doubt for Watford game – and Ryan Leonard’s return schedule is slowed

Murray Wallace looks set to miss Millwall’s home game against Watford on Wednesday night.

The Scottish defender came off in Saturday’s 2-1 win at Bristol City with a groin problem.

“Muzza has gone for a scan today,” Lions boss Gary Rowett told the South London Press. “We’ll know a little bit more, hopefully by tomorrow, if there is any damage in there or the extent of the damage.

“He will be a doubt.

“He felt his groin two weeks ago and it settled down a little bit and he didn’t feel too bad. Then he felt like he was a bit inhibited trying to stretch for the ball when he went to open up late on.

“You know what type of character Murray is – he wanted to carry on but I could see him grimacing and we don’t want to take a risk with him.”

Ryan Leonard has been out since late August with a hamstring tear.

“Lenny’s just had a minor setback,” said Rowett. “He felt a little bit sore doing some high-end stuff that would’ve allowed him to go straight back into training. Since he had a reaction we have held him back a little bit. He was due to be joining in fully this week.”
