Neil Harris has revealed that Ben Thompson was forced off in Saturday’s 3-2 defeat at Leeds due to injury.

The midfielder headed the Lions in front at Elland Road but had to be replaced in the closing stages.

Millwall manager Harris said: “It [the goal] was a move we had worked on leading into the game. I was delighted we got the goal and it was good to see Ben Thompson on the scoresheet again.

“He was struggling at the end of the game and we’ll have to see how he develops this week.

“We’ll know more over the next few days.”

Harris has talked about the battle down the Millwall right in the weekend’s high-quality clash – Mahlon Romeo and Jed Wallace pitted against Ezgjan Alioski and Jack Harrison.

“We knew that Mahlon and Jed were going to cause them problems but we also knew Alioski and Harrison could cause us problems down that side,” he said. “It was almost two wingers playing there. We created our two goals from down that side, and so did they.”
