Gary Rowett was unable to provide any insight into Billy Mitchell’s goal celebration in Millwall’s 4-1 win over Bristol City.
The midfielder, who recently extended his contract, got on the scoresheet for the first time at senior level.
“It looked to me at one point like he was swimming on a dry pitch which probably isn’t a good idea,” said Rowett, when asked about his reaction to scoring.
“Billy’s probably done thousands of them [press ups] being out injured and I don’t know if that was a little nod to the work he’s done with the physios.
“I’m not sure – you’ll have to ask Billy that one.”
