Millwall midfielder relishes underdog status ahead of home games with West Brom and Fulham

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Ryan Woods is happy for Millwall to be underdogs for the Championship play-offs this season.

The Lions are five points off a top-six spot and face challenging back-to-back Den dates with West Brom on Sunday and Fulham on Wednesday evening.

Woods, signed on loan from Stoke City in January, said: “I’ve had the underdog status before at Brentford – they’ve been punching above their weight for so long and they are doing it again this year.

“We don’t need to talk about that too much, we’re focused on taking it one game at a time.

“With the amount of work-rate and talent in this group I’m sure we can surprise a lot of people.”
