Morrisons Foundation gives cash boost to Wandsworth Hospital

The Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability (RHN) in Wandsworth will be offering patients a new therapeutic experience after receiving a £14,000 donation from the Morrisons Foundation.

The additional funds will fund a specialist sensory bath which will help ease the anxieties caused by Covid-19 and support the health and wellbeing of young residents with complex neuro-disabilities.

Jane Beaven, Director of Fundraising said: “I am delighted that The Morrisons Foundation has decided to support the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability to purchase a sensory bath for Haberdashers House, a specialist unit for young people who have complex disabilities after serious brain injury or illness. Your generosity will make bathing time a more therapeutic and relaxing experience for young patients and residents.”

The RHN provides support and rehabilitation for 300 patients each year requiring specialist neuro-disability care.

David Scott, Morrisons Foundation Trustee said, “We’re pleased that our donation can be used to help deliver such enriching therapeutic sessions. The Covid-19 pandemic has created additional pressures on so many people in our communities so it’s reassuring that the RHN team, with the help of their new equipment, are able to dedicate time to easing these anxieties.”

The Morrisons Foundation was set up by Morrisons supermarket in 2015 and awards grants for charity projects which help improve people’s lives. Since launching, over £29 million has been donated to hundreds of charities across England, Scotland and Wales.
