MOTD pundit makes big attacking claim after Palace ease to win over Tottenham

Alan Shearer reckons that Crystal Palace will pose more of a threat in front of goal than last season after their 3-0 win against Tottenham on Saturday.

Odsonne Edouard’s brace and a Wilfried Zaha penalty gave the Eagles their first win of the Premier League season.

Shearer told Match Of The Day: “He [Wilfried Zaha] was superb, as Palace were all over the pitch.

“They caused a threat which sometimes they lacked last season. They’re now better equipped to create and score more this season. Zaha gave Emerson Royal a really tough afternoon.

“He tried to get tight to him, and he enjoyed that and he rolled him three or four times. He was a nuisance and a real threat all afternoon.

“[Conor] Gallagher got in there, he was impressive once again. They’re going to pose more of a threat in front of goal this season with the likes of Edouard, Gallagher, Zaha and [Michael] Olise as well.

“They battered them today, Palace were very impressive.”
