Motorcyclist arrested after collision in Sydenham

A man has been arrested today after a bike was in collision with a pedestrian.

The incident happened on at about 11.45am on Wednesday, 5 September on Sydenham Road, Sydenham.

A motorbike rider failed to stop for police and was then followed by a marked police vehicle.

As it made off, the bike struck a female pedestrian.

The bike rider was arrested.

Paramedics attended and treated the pedestrian, a woman in her mid 50s.

The bike rider also suffered an injury – details of the condition of both injured people awaits.

As is usual in such cases officers from the MPS traffic officers have attended to investigate.

Road closures are in place while emergency services deal with the situation.
