CCTV released of suspect in Lewisham teenager stab attack

Police have released CCTV of a suspect in a stabbing in Lewisham that left a teenager “seriously injured”.

Police were called to Westwood Hill in Sydenham at around 7.10pm on Monday, August 8 following reports of a stabbing.

Officers attended with paramedics from the London Ambulance Service and found an 18-year-old man with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Detectives are appealing for anyone who was in the area, and who has yet to speak with police, to come forward.

Detective inspector Spencer Thomas said: “We have released footage of a person we are keen to trace. The footage was captured in Kirkdale, SE26, just before the incident.

“A young man was stabbed – and seriously injured – in broad daylight at a bus stop. I would urge anyone who witnessed this assault to contact us.

“I would also ask that anyone who was driving in the vicinity and has a dash cam to check the footage to see whether they captured something that could help our investigation. Any piece of information, whether you think it might be insignificant or not, could be vital.”

There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.
