Councillors launch help with housing booklet for struggling residents

Labour councillors in one borough have launched a booklet with everything you need to know about housing support in the borough.

Bexley’s Labour councillors created the Help with Housing information booklet to help residents, charities and voluntary groups during the current housing crisis.

Cllr Anna Day, Shadow Cabinet Member for Housing, Climate Change, Transport, Environment and Leisure said: “It has been clear to me through conversations with residents that there was a growing need to collate housing advice from both national and local organisations in one place.

“Residents have complained how hard they find it to access the council’s services for housing assistance via an online form.”

The booklet outlines information and support available from national and local organisations to help people dealing with housing issues and explains the council’s housing legalisation.

Further information and advice for leaseholders, homeowners and those private renting or renting from a housing association is also available in the booklet.

Cllr Stefano Borella, Leader of the Labour Group said: “This booklet has been produced to help residents be given the correct information to deal with any housing issue they might face.”
