Man, 23, in hospital after broad daylight stabbing in Croydon
A 23-year-old man is in hospital after he was stabbed in broad daylight near East Croydon railway station yesterday afternoon.
The incident took place in George Street at around 2pm, with paramedics and police attending the scene.
Paramedics treated the victim at the scene before taking him to a major trauma centre as a priority. His condition has been assessed as not life-threatening, police said.
No arrests have been made at this stage, with the attacker still at large. Police have issued a public appeal for information.
The London Tramlink services between East Croydon and Reeves Corner were suspended yesterday as police carried out their investigation. They have since been resumed with minor delays.
The Met issued a Section 60 order for Fairfield, Broad Green and Croydon Town Centre Wards, until 10pm last night.
