Man dies in hospital after Lewisham flat fire
A man has died in hospital after a flat fire in Lewisham last week.
Four fire engines responded to reports of the blaze in Venner Road at around 6am on Tuesday morning.
One man was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews and taken to hospital, where he later died.
A small part of the first floor flat was damaged by the fire.
Firefighters from Beckenham, Forest Hill, West Norwood and Bromley fire stations brought the incident under control by around 7.15am.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, the London Fire Brigade (LFB) said.
