Mayor of Southwark joins tenant organisation for end-of-year celebration
Southwark Group of Tenants Organisations (SGTO) hosted an end-of-year event with the Mayor of Southwark, Cllr Naima Ali.
SGTO is an independent tenants’ federation in a temporary community centre in the Bells Gardens estate.
The event, held on November 23, brought together members of various tenants’ and residents’ associations (TRAs) from across the borough, as well as the Mayor, Southwark councillors and Southwark council officials.
Attendees, including councillors Evelyn Akoto and Natasha Ennin, were welcomed with food and drink before speeches took place.
Hosted by Andrew Eke, the chairman of the Tustin Estate TRA, all of the attendees had the chance to speak.
After a successful evening, SGTO hopes to organise the event on an annual basis to encourage communication and networking between residents, TRAs and council officials.
