Park rape allegation made after young woman is ‘attacked by man she’d just met’
A 21-year-old man arrested following an alleged rape in King George’s Park, Wandsworth, has been bailed, pending further enquiries.
The Met say an attack was reported as taking place at around 4pm on Monday.
The victim, in her 20s, said she was lured into an alleyway leading into the park by a man she had only just met.
A 24-year-old woman was also arrested and taken to a police station, on suspicion of sexual assault. She has also been bailed.
A spokesman said: “The victim, aged in her 20s, had been sexually assaulted by a male she met earlier. She is being supported by specialist officers.”
A crime scene was put in place around the 55-acre park, which was opened in 1923 by the late King George V.
