Police ‘extremely concerned’ for missing man after car found
Police have said they are “extremely concerned” for the welfare of a man who has been missing for almost a week after his car was found.
Justin Henry, 34, was reported missing to police on October 16. He has not been seen or heard from by his family since. His family have said this is out of character.
He has links to the Honor Oak area and was last seen in person on the evening of October 15, at his partner’s address in Brixton.
He was seen on CCTV later that evening buying food at a McDoanld’s drive-thru in London Road, Croydon, at around 10pm.
A spokesman from the Met said: “At this time we believe Justin drove from McDoanld’s to a nearby location in Croydon where his vehicle, a silver Mercedes E Class, remained for about two and a half hours.
“The Mercedes was later found in Kingswood Drive, Sydenham Hill.
“It is unclear who was driving the vehicle when it arrived at Kingswood Drive due to indistinct CCTV images of the driver, but Justin’s family state that it is not him.”
One person has already been arrested in connection with the investigation and has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in January 2024.
Police said they are trying to establish Mr Henry’s movements, in particular late on October 15, and in the early hours of October 16.
Detective Chief Inspector, Matt Coop, said: “Based on the available evidence this remains a missing person enquiry, however my concern that Justin has come to harm is, sadly, increasing with every day.
“We are now appealing to the public for their assistance.
“I need to hear from anyone who may have seen Justin over the past week. We are particularly interested in any information about Justin’s movements after leaving McDonald’s on October 15, and I also want to hear from anyone who saw anything suspicious or heard a disturbance.
