Stay fit and healthy, the Elephant and Castle way

One of the most feel-good days in the Elephant & Castle community event calendar – The Elefit Wellness Festival –  is coming soon.

It’s a free day of healthy exercising at Castle Square, five minutes’ walk from Elephant and Castle Tube station.

Throughout Saturday, July 13 (11am-5pm), guests will be able to participate in a variety of classes including Qigong Flow, Afrobeat dance, chair yoga, writing, gardening, kick boxing and Latin dance. There will also be a disco and music throughout the day.

The classes are run by local community groups and the aim is to introduce guests to new cultures, celebrating the multicultural neighbourhood of Elephant and Castle.

Organisers say: “There truly is something for everyone, with high energy for those looking to blow off steam and let loose, to mindful sessions where guests can zen and zone out.”

The restaurants and traders of Castle Square will also be open and welcoming guests during the Elefit festival. This includes some of London’s very best authentic spots, including The Original Caribbean Spice, Kaieteur Kitchen, Pappagones Restaurant, Murger Han, El Guambra, Coma y Beba, and Daddy Os Suya Spot.
