Still no arrests as family of ‘much loved’ man stabbed to death launch fundraiser

The killer of a 20-year-old man stabbed to death at the weekend is still on the loose as the Met confirm they are yet to make an arrest.

The man, who is believed to be called Filipe, was stabbed in Norwood Road, West Norwood, at around 6pm on Saturday and found inside a shop suffering from stab injuries.

Despite the efforts of paramedics he died at the scene.

A fundraiser has been launched by the family of a man killed “by senseless knife crime” who would be “willing to give his last pound away to someone else who needed it”.

Soraia Oliveira, the creator of the fundraiser, said: “Our son and brother, Filipe, was tragically taken from us. He was a very much loved member of our family and his loss will be felt strongly forever. 

“His friends are forever going to miss his company, jokes, laugh and smile. 

“Filipe was one of the funniest people you could come across, and always put his friends and family first. He would be willing to give his last pound away to someone else who needed it and shared everything he had. 

“No one plans for someone to die at 20 years old. Especially not for them to be taken so violently and suddenly.”

No arrests have been made at this stage.

A crime scene is in place and enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

A Section 60 Order granting police additional stop and search powers was authorised for the whole of Lambeth between 7pm on Saturday and 7am yesterday morning.
