Teenager hospitalised after Southwark park stabbing

A teenager was hospitalised after a knife attack in a public park on Friday night.

Cops and London Ambulance Service crews were called to reports of a stabbing in Newington Gardens, Southwark at around 9.40pm.

A 19-year-old was taken to hospital for treatment where his injuries were assessed as non-life changing, police said.

The Met police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident – or who has relevant CCTV or dashcam footage if they were around Newington Gardens at the time – to call 101, quoting CAD 7827/11APR.

A man has been charged with wounding with intent and appeared in court.
