Three men who escaped from Tooting hospital have been found

Police have found three men who absconded from a hospital on Friday.

Adil Maxamed, 20, was found on Sunday afternoon in Earlsfield after he escaped from Springfield Hospital in Glenburnie Road. He has been returned to the hospital.

Mr Maxamed was the last of three men who absconded from the facility to be located.

A spokesman for the Met said that the three men escaped from the hospital at around 10pm, after breaking a glass door.

Officers detained one man at a residential address in South London in the early hours of Saturday morning and returned him to the hospital.

A second man was detained on Saturday afternoon in the Clapham Junction area and has also been returned to the hospital, the force added.

Detective Inspector Jack Lyle from the South West Command Unit said: “Thanks to a concerted effort, both by police and partner agencies, all three men have been located and returned to the hospital.

“I would also like to thank the public for their vigilance and assistance following our public appeals.”
