Three-storey chicken shop planned for Bromley

Plans to build a three-storey food business with a drive-through on the site of a demolished car wash have been submitted to Bromley council

The applicant Altan Ramadan has requested planning permission to build the culinary enterprise on the former site of Olleys Posh Wash in Sevenoaks Way, Orpington.

The proposed building – which according to planning documents would cost up to £2million to construct – is said to be a “chicken shop type facility with a limited menu choice catering for lunchtime and evening demand”.

Plans for the building design show a collection area, pick-up area and service area on the ground floor, a kitchen and staff area on the first floor and a bakery area on the second.

There would also be a one-way drive-through, 10 car parking spaces and 25 bike parking spaces.

The foundation for the building has already been laid after a previous application to build a three-storey replacement car wash facility at the site was permitted by council planners in 2021.

Planning documents also state that if planning permission is granted, construction would begin in July this year and be completed in the following month.

The application, which was validated by Bromley council on April 11, has received four objections from residents raising concerns over increased antisocial behavior, traffic and security issues.

A decision will be made on the application in due course, with no set date at this stage.
