Work begins on new health centre in heart of Bromley

Work to construct a new state-of-the-art health and well-being centre in the heart of Bromley town centre is under way.

The facility, which will contain a GP surgery and range of healthcare services, will be located in Bromley’s new Civic Centre building in Churchill Court.

Leader of Bromley council, Councillor Colin Smith, said: “Having recently completed negotiations with our health partners I am absolutely delighted to be able to report that works are now underway and moving at pace to deliver upon our promise to provide a brand new health and well-being centre besides the new Civic Centre at Bromley South for residents.”

The Dysart GP Surgery in Ravensbourne Road will move to the new centre, in an effort to bring GP services closer to more residents.

The plans form part of the council’s wider strategy to transform the Civic Centre into a focal point for Bromley services.

Dr Angela Bhan, Bromley’s NHS place executive lead said: “It is exciting to see works are underway and through our partnership work with the council, we will be able to bring these important services together, with all the health benefits this entails for residents.

“The vision for this new centre is about fulfilling long term health needs in the borough and ensuring services work efficiently and effectively together.”
