Palace midfielder nominated for Premier League 2 Player of the Month

Crystal Palace U21 midfielder Jack Wells-Morrison has been nominated for Premier League 2 Player of the Month for April.

Wells-Morrison, who captains Darren Powell’s side, scored three penalties in a row against Chelsea, Blackburn Rovers and West Ham United last month.

The 19-year-old is up against Carlos Borges (Manchester City), Owen Farmer and Nathan Fraser (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Luke Harris (Fulham), Cameron Peupion (Brighton) and Liverpool duo Harvey Blair and James Norris.

Wells-Morrison has been capped by England at U18 level and signed his first professional contract with the club in 2021.

Versatile midfielder Wells-Morrison has made 30 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring six goals and registering four assists.

He was named on the bench by Patrick Vieira in the 2-0 win at Oxford in the second round of the EFL Cup earlier in the season.

The nominees are selected by the Premier League’s Football Development Panel after PL2 club coaches nominated the best performance by an opponent in each of their league matches in the month.

The winner will be determined by the Panel and announced next week.
