Portsmouth ‘close’ to deal for former Millwall midfielder Shaun Williams

Portsmouth are reportedly close to signing former Millwall midfielder Shaun Williams.

The experienced campaigner was released by the Lions earlier this summer. He becomes a free agent on July 1.

The 34-year-old made 295 appearances and scored 18 goals for the Lions during a seven year stay.

Football Insider are reporting that Pompey have reached an agreement with Williams following a breakthrough in talks.

Williams has won three caps for Republic Ireland and scored one goal for his country.
