Pupil and teacher attacked at school in Streatham/Norbury, Lambeth

Two men burst into a school and attacked a 13-year-old pupil – and a member of staff.

Police have confirmed they were called to the three-year-old Woodmansterne School in Stockport Road, Streatham Vale at 3.26pm on Tuesday November 10.

Two men, aged about 18 to 19, had entered the school grounds and assaulted a 13-year-old pupil. A member of staff was also assaulted. There were no serious injuries reported, say police.

The teenage victim’s mother, who has five other children and did not wish to be named, said: “I was told he had thrown peas at a girl on November 6. If she had told the school or me, he would have been disciplined.

“She told him to watch out after school.

“On November 10 she was outside the school and pointed him out to the three men. He said there were three men and so does the school.

“They chased him onto school property and attacked him, stamping on his head then ran away.

“His arm was bandaged when he came back and his face was swollen.

“I should have been told at every stage what was happening but the school did not ring me when they said they would. I called every single minute for days but no one answered.

“So I put it on social media, first on Streatham Mums, then on Tooting Mums, but each time but was told to take it down.

“I went for a meeting at the school but this girl was there barking like a Rottweiler. My son was terrified. She should not have been there.

“And when they asked me about what happened, they seemed to be more on her side.

“They have said he can come back but will not say if she is coming back or not. The other boys who threw the peas have been told they cannot go out during breaktime or lunch. It is like they are being punished.

“My son is getting flashbacks. I won’t let him go back until there is a proper safeguarding plan in place.”

The mother was called that evening by the school’s executive headteacher Samantha Palin who told her that her son had been involved in an incident.

Mrs Palin said: “Three men tried to get on the site to attack someone. No one was hurt. I do not want to comment further for the sake of the safety of the children and staff. We will be able to say more when we know more about what happened.”

Woodmansterne School created its secondary school three years ago. Former pupils include influential rapper Roots Manuva, aka Rodney Smith. He filmed the tongue-in-cheek video for his 2001 hit Witness – currently being used in an advert for IKEA  – at the school.

No arrests have been made and enquiries continue. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC and quote CAD4561/10NOV.  Alternatively, information can be provided to Crimestoppers, anonymously, by calling 0800 555 111.

This is completely irresponsible journalism. Have you any idea the impact the specifics here may have on families and minors involved, not to mention the school!!! Think about it and then I advise you at least remove the references

This appears to be rambling nonsense instead of news?
