QPR deal for David Marshall – as Scot solves their shotstopper shortage
QPR have signed goalkeeper David Marshall on a permanent deal from Derby County.
Number one Seny Dieng is away on Africa Cup Of Nations duty with Senegal and back-up Jordan Archer suffered a shoulder injury making the decisive save in their FA Cup win over Rotherham last weekend.
“It’s all happened very quickly and I’m delighted,” said Glasgow-born Marshall, who has played nearly 600 senior matches.
“QPR needed a goalkeeper and I’m just happy to help. I can’t wait to get started.
“I’m ready to go and there’s a real hunger in me to do well. I’ve been at the top end of this league a number of times, and hopefully that experience can help the team progress.”
