Shaun Hutchinson: Millwall fans need to take some of credit for our home form

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Shaun Hutchinson reckons Millwall’s fans need to take some of the credit for their impressive home record.

The Lions beat Charlton 2-1 on Saturday and have lost just two of their last 14 matches in all competitions in SE16.

Hutchinson headed in the first goal at the weekend (pictured above) before Matt Smith’s stoppage-time clincher.

“We’re really good at home – almost top-six form at home,” the centre-back told Millwall Player. “It is just our away form that we need to pick up. I’m sure the gaffer is racking his brains how to do it, we’re all confident he can.

“When it [The Den] is like that, the fans are like that, it’s great to play in. It drives you through. Credit to them, because we pick up so many points at home.

“The way it went – a last-minute winner – the fans loved it. They’ll be going home happy and we’re really happy. To go into the international break with a win is brilliant, especially the way we’ve done that.”
