Shaun Williams adds QPR appearance to Villa outing as Millwall midfielder builds match sharpness
Shaun Williams has followed up his late substitute appearance at Aston Villa by playing in today’s Professional Development League match against Queens Park Rangers.
The Irish midfielder had been sidelined with a knee injury but was a change for Aiden O’Brien in the closing stages at Villa Park on Saturday.
“It wasn’t the plan to get Shaun on at all costs,” said Lions boss Neil Harris. “It was just the way it fell. We had no Fergie or Fred – we’re short of wide players at the moment.
“Aiden had worked his socks off and was cramping up in his calves. It is no surprise his running stats were through the roof.”
